I like this restaurant due to his close it is. The sushi is good enough to justify the prices for the rolls. This night I opted for a different dish. The portions were huge. The taste and quality of food was average though. Seems you get more food for higher prices but I would rather have a smaller portion of better tasting food. Food came hot and service was good if not prompt, but the server took time to explain the delay.
The sushi at Shiki is fresh and wonderful. They have so many varieties, and if you buy any type of drink, you can take advantage of the buy one get one free special and try multiple kinds. The service is always fantastic, and the servers are knowledgeable and can make recommendations for special diets, such as gluten free options, for the sushi and sauces. If you don't want sushi, they have hibachi, noodle dishes, wagyu burgers and other specialties. Shiki is a great place to go for a celebratory dinner or just a lunch during the week. Check out the desserts too!
I've also been a few times on weekdays and love getting the buy one get one sushi with a friend. Great way to try new things and save!
Great for a Friday date night, and has delicious Sushi. They sometimes have a wait but it is well worth it for the food and atmosphere.
Another great thing is there is a selection that far surpasses most sushi places. Something for everyone at the table!
The food is fine, the only issue I have is when I got the bill. It is stated buy one roll get one free. So we had three people and three meals, one party got two rolls each at the same price of $16.95. Another party selected two rolls both at the same price of $15.95, and the last person ordered two rolls at $11.95. I paid for the bill but the restaurant only deducted two of the $11.95 rolls and one of the $15.95 roll. Not the way it should have been, if each person ordered and paid separately then they would have deducted it correctly!
The service was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. For lunch service, I found the wait time to be slow to get our food. The sushi special is buy one roll, get one roll free. It is worth mentioning that a soda or paid beverage must be purchased to get the free roll.
I purchased two rolls and a soda with the total bill coming out to just over $20. One of my rolls was not made properly (Philadelphia Roll with only salmon and cream cheese, no cucumber) and the other roll I just didn't care for. Overall, I don't think that the quality of the food warrants the high price tag.
