My wife and me went to Maggiano’s for our first time and we thought it was pretty good. Not the best food we have ever had, but it was good. It was nice and fancy inside, it was very loud due to how busy it was. The calamari was very good! It’s definitely something to try. Alcohol made the experience more pleasant.
Beware the good reviews here seem paid for by the owner...
My wife loves Maggiano's gnocchi, which is probably the only reason we keep coming back. The last couple of times we've been in, my meals (Eggplant Parm and Chicken Piccata) have tasted like microwave dinners. Likewise these guys do NOT know how to cook spaghetti; their pasta is frequently either way underdone to the point where it's still crunchy, or it's been sitting around under a heating lamp to the point it has dried out. Pretty nasty. Combine this was extremely lackluster service (ask for bread and it comes 15 minutes after you finish your meal) and it's a definite non-recommend from me. What a shame, because as I mentioned, my wife loves this place, but for the price... I'd rather eat at another place.
The host was rude, he didn't greet us or let us know what was going on. When he handed off menus and I assumed we were supposed to follow and be seated, the host grabbed me. Why not just say "wait a minute, she is taking the menus somewhere else?" Or how about just say something instead of grab at me. The staff seemed like they weren't sure how the seating worked. The restaurant was dirty and food was nothing special. I have always had a good experience at the Charlotte location, but will not return to this location.
Worst service and food at Maggianos in my recent memory. They have overworked waiters who ruin the customers experience. Food was mediocre and I get 100 times better food, wine and service at Olive garden which is 30% the price.
Great food and lots of it. Decent price for what you get. Great staff (Kelly took great care of us). Deals where you actually get one meal to eat and then one to go. Nice selection - seafood, chicken, steaks and pasta. Kind of an old style look inside, lots of wood, deep booths.
