I am sorry that Belk (like many other retailers) seems to be having hard times, but basic customer courtesy, cleanliness, and orderly merchandise would go a long, long way to making it a more enjoyable and worthwhile experience. So long, Belk. Tomorrow when I get that stupid tag taken off will be the last time I darken your doors. :(
The final insult, being utterly exhausted from just trying to find a pair of decent slacks, was that the check-out clerk was so busy pestering me to get a Belk card ("no thank you.. not today.. no thank you.. I really don't want one..." at least eight different times; I am NOT exaggerating..), she forgot to take the alarm sensor off. I got all the way home (a 30-mile drive) and found it. (It's a mystery that I left the store without being stopped. I really wish I had!!).
They have good sales every once in awhile and I like parking outside of Belk because there is always a good amount of parking available unlike some of the other lots.
Boy, has it gone to the dogs! The fitting rooms were just nasty; there was NO help in sight, the merchandise was a jumble of different sizes, brands, falling down off the shelves, just a wreck. IMPOSSIBLE to find my size without hours of taking things down, and putting them back (far more neatly than I found them, too).
I have been a loyal Belk's customer for over 25 years. I go there first, because it's NC-based. And it used to be a happy experience. So, I *want* to love it. No more, I am VERY sorry to say.
Great place to shop! Great customer service! Awesome prices and sales!
the Indian sales person opened credit card to me without my wish, he asked me for information while I was checking out and when he asked me social security I asked him why does buying a shirt needs SS? he said oh I applied for a credit card for you! I told him but I didn't want a credit card!!! he said you can cancel it , call this number! No one answered the number he gave me and now it's affecting my credit scores!
(Ha, ha. As if anyone at Belk will ever even read this).
Poor customer service, I bought a $45.00 bottle of foundation from Estee Lauder and I received the wrong gift with purchase after telling the clerk twice what samples wanted.
So now I have to go back, since there is no way to remove it myself. I am REALLY angry about this, and SO disappointed.
