I am at the Apple Store trying to get my phone fixed so that I can sell it. I made a reservation for 540 online. Come into the store, salesperson says 20-30 minutes behind. So here I am waiting and what do I notice? Six employees standing around talking to each other. Unbelievable.

What a bad experience with this store. I live in Charlotte and purchased a phone through the Apple website. I ended up chatting with a wonderful Apple Care specialist (Margaret, see attached screenshot) (they rate 5 stars plus) on the chat. I chose this store as the phone was a present for my daughter who lives in Cary NC. Her phone died and I ended up purchasing an 8 Plus and included the complete apple Care package. Since this was a new phone I asked Margaret (see attached screenshot) if the store would assist. Her answer was that's what the specialists in the store does. I completed the sale. A short while later the store texted that the phone was ready for pickup. I sent my daughter the instructions for pickup (for security to insure the right person picks up the phone). Well when she got to the store all excited it was downhill from there. They ID'd her and gave her the phone. when she asked about assistance the male clerk (she didn't get a name) stated to her that they don't do that. She advised him of the Apple Care chat session, he told her they quoted wrong and that they don't do that. She left with phone. What a crock of BS. Were they busy, yes. But that's no way treat a customer who had just spent over 1 grand at the store. I went to Apples website and re-read what was covered and it clearly falls under the 90 days of unlimited support (yes, lots of fine print and rules). If the Apple Care specialist there don't do that then what do they do? Happy with Apple chat and support, 5 plus stars. The Apple store in Durham is rated 0 stars!!!!

Update:

Walked in at 3:30 on Monday afternoon, told a greeter I wanted to buy an iPhone 7. Guy says "30, 40 minutes" before a salesperson could get to me. Asks me to stay at front of store, along either wall, so they can find me. Takes my name. 45 or 50 minutes later I ask one of their greeters how much longer. "Oh, we took you off the list." Why did you take me off the list? "We went looking for you quite a while ago for some time and you weren't here." Assured him I had been here the whole time, response was a befuddled "oh" and offer to "put me back on the list." I left.

These people really know their stuff! I went in with such a simple problem (my mute button being broken) that I didn't even think they'd be able to fix and they had a quick solution in no time! I definitely recommend making a reservation because it's a very busy location but this was the first good technology experience I've ever had between multiple phone companies and different electronic stores. Everyone is very nice, funny, and knowledgeable. I will definitely make the drive from Cary to Durham just to go to this location.

This apple store's customer service has officially driven me away from buying any future iPhone. Complete waste of time and the incompetence coupled with arrogance of some team members is downright appalling.

I went into this Apple store location on a Tuesday afternoon--not overcrowded at all. The walk-in technical issue guy was an absolute condescending jerk who spoke to me like I was a child. He had an attitude and ultimately did not help me with my phone issue. He told me to call Apple support instead. He simply just didn't want to do his job--he and the other several Apple associates who were all standing around doing absolutely nothing on the day I went in to the store. They could have easily helped me with my phone issue that day because it was not busy. Steve Jobs would be disgusted. I get less attitude during the day being a high school teacher! I don't need a grown-adult Apple employee being an arrogant pissant toward me when I probably know more about technology than he does. Never going back there.
