We rented a car one way from Washington DC at 1:30 pm and drove to Durham NC. We were instructed to return it by 1:30 pm the following day. We returned the car, full of fuel, a couple hours early at 11 am, at the Budget location on Guess Road in Durham NC.
Shabir Chaubry is the manager of this location and is dishonest. He charged me a late fee of $10.00 and gave me the receipt without saying a thing about the extra charge. When I examined the receipt and found the extra erroneous charge, he said he could not help me a gave me a phone Budget number to call. He refused to call his company himself to correct the error. Left with no alternative, I called the national number at Budget. When I eventually got through, the agent on the phone apologized, said Shabir Chaubry should never have added a late fee, that Budget only rents by the day, and not the hour, and he sent me a email correcting the mistake that Shabir Chaubry would not correct.
Downgrade my car from edge to escape and say it’s similar without returning the price difference. Can I give 0 star?
O had a great experience with them great fast accurate service! And on top of all that wau cheaper than all the other rental car companies I called
If you have to rent from Budget in Durham, be very careful. Shabir Chaubry and his co-worker at this location are dishonest. I gave them one star because you can not post with "zero" stars. If you can rent a vehicle from anyone else, I suggest you do that.
This company has now changed hands. I have met the owner and am renting a car for the end of the month. He is aware of the really bad reviews of the former owners and the poor service. He is hoping to change that.
They are so dishonest. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Horrible customer service. I will call corporate about this ridiculous place.
