A ranger warned us that 6 people had had their stuff stolen in the past two days, so keep your things in view while you're in the water.
Fun and relaxing, as long as you're taking measures to be safe. It's very very deep right from the edge, so even strong swimmers should have a float or something to hang on to. Do not drink or jump from the cliff, and you'll have a great time! About a 15 minute slightly hilly hike to get there from the parking area. The water is still and clear and a perfect temperature all summer :)
This is a really cool place. The short hike in is pretty, and even early in the summer, the water's as warm as a pool... probably about 85 F. You might need to get there early, since the parking lot fills up. If you're willing to hike further, other parking is available, too. Check the trail map for routes.
A great place for a swim, although the park rangers will gladly tell you that there is no inlet or outlet for the water in the quarry, so there's no guarantee of how clean it is! They always recommend that you swim in the Eno, instead.
Good Trail to and from quarry with dips and inclines. A good trail for someone beginning to hike.
This is my favorite local place to swim. The water is beautiful. The hike is about a mile and it is well worth it. Make sure to bring water and snacks!
