He also recommended a good helmet for me. The store is very well organized, clean not overwhelming. It is also a co-op so members get a discount and dividends.
This is a smaller store. Not as much selection in the clothing department. Otherwise it's a nice REI. Can't beat the service and quality of REI.

I highly recommend going to the store and not shopping online. I didn't realize how much I missed that one on one customer service treatment that is so rare these days when shopping.
This is my favorite REI out of all the ones in the Triangle. You can always get a parking space and there rarely ever a line. You can get your bike in and serviced the same day most of the time. The staff are friendly, helpful and talkative. It's hard not to buy something when you're here :-)
I'm very glad that I did.John was very helpful and provided excellent customer service in the cycling section of the store. I was able to try on my cycling shorts and they fit perfectly. He answered my questions and didn't try to sell me expensive shorts that I didn't need being that I'm a newbie to cycling.
My boyfriend kept urging me to go to the store to get biking shorts with shammies. I hadn't been on a bike in over 10 years and the one time I rode a bike it was all I could do to stay on it and it wasn't very comfortable. I was going to Simply order women's biking shorts on Amazon it would be convenient I thought who needs to go into a store Front these days. But my boyfriend who's a cyclist urged me to go so I finally went.
I can't stand a store where the associates don't acknowledge your presence or assist you when needed.. they see you standing there waiting for help but help never comes..
