Look. If you're ever in the area and need a go-to brunch place, you'll want to come here... This place has a wonderful environment (very popular) that is casual dining. The food is German inspired, has enough items on the brunch menu to make you want to come back. My favorite items are the eggs Benedict and cream puff. Definitely will come back to try other items. Did I mention that it had its own bakery?
This is one of my favorite bakeries I've ever been to. I had a cream puff, a chocolate torte, & a chocolate Guglhupf, but I wanted everything! I'm German & everything was made traditionally, fresh in house. It was all authentic & I appreciated the time & effort the owner put into maintaining a standard of excellence. I can't wait to go back! ❤❤❤
Love the food...service is mostly good, at times a little slow but always friendly. Hate the ordering lines during brunch...should have table service. As a result I avoid it for brunch even though the food is incredible. One of the most amazing bakeries. Outdoor seating is fun and unlike any other place in Durham. Love the architecture and art work. Parking is the pits but food and atmosphere outweighs the effort to park. A must stop on the Durham restaurent scene.
We stopped by the bakery for a last minute vegetable quiche for a dinner party. It was very, very good too but they only had ONE available. I guess I found it bothersome in that there was a lack of baked/pastry dinner/breakfast foods available other than just the quiche. No Shepherds pie, Chicken Pot Pie, Mince Meat Pie...only straight up desserts. Fine I guess. But I would love it even more if I could stop by and pick up a quick dinner pie to heat up at home for the family.
Their pancake is really great. It is sweet, fluffy, and soft. It tastes great by itself but it tastes even more amazing with their maple syrup.
The kitchen closes at 3 o'clock on Sunday, and you can stay until 5 o'clock.
Prices were fair. Everything appeared clean. Staff was nice. We'll be back.
For coffee, Cappuccino is good. Mocha is okay. Americano is amazing.
